    Kettlebell vs. Dumbbells

Are kettlebells better for kettlebell movements or will dumbbells work?

I don't know. What's a kettlebell? Is that what is in your avatar?

Anything to build a strong body for judo/jujitsu. Snatch, clean and jerks, etc. I'm just not sure where or how to start a KB style program.

How can you do snatch/cleans with a kettlebell? It seems like the round part would slam the wrist?

There a a couple I do that I place into my routine...pretty tough. One is to grab to dumbells and let them hang between your legs while in a half squat position. Pull the weight up to your shoulders and then bounce up a little with your legs, to get the weight moving and finish pressing with your arms till the weight is over head. Then let it fall back down between your legs....be careful not to bang the knees. I do this with 45's, 15-20 reps for 12 sets. Yes it's way over kill but you'll feel it for days afterwards.

If you are looking for more Kettleball exercieses check out this link:

Some of the exercises you will be able to do with dumbbells, others will be more difficult. If you are looking at starting a full kettleball routine with lots of kettleball exercises you might want to consider purchasing some, although they are fairly expensive.
