the daily RDA is about 1.5 mg. are you asking for any reason in particular?
The max is 100mg per day.
That's for Thiamine Mononitrate.
I have some Vitamin B1 and here it is great for you...was just curious how much I am supposed to take.
I take 100mg pd
i'd feel as though 10-20 mg/day would be plenty... you'll be getting a good amount of thiamine from your diet on top of that. doses of 100 mg and above are the type that are used for actual treatment of patients (wernicke's encephalopathy, severe thiamine deficiencies, etc.).Originally Posted by DBarcelo
Yes, 100mg per day is the max, which is used for the treatment of patients for certain medical conditions. 50mg per day is also normally used for the treatment of certain medical conditions.
Yes, 10-20 mg's per day is more than enough for the average person.
But 100mg's is shown to be safe and show no adverse reactions in normal healthy adults. That is the maximum safe dosage for a person that doesn't need it. For a person that needs it, they may be prescribed two 100mg tablets per day.
100 mg is not necessarily the "max". up to 3 g/day has been used in treatment of alzheimer's patients... i haven't seen the study though so i don't know if these patients experienced any sides but there is also no reason for the average person to go this high. and yes.. as you said 100 mg is safe. but its just good for him to know that he doesn't necessarily have to go this high

A couple highlights from my prior post.
I know people are given higher doses WHEN THEY NEED IT.
100 mg's is the highest dose to be taken IF YOU DON'T NEED IT.
