If you're seriously concerned about your gear, you should send it to a lab to get it tested. Whenever I've dealt with a new source, I get my gear tested. It costs about $100 depending on what tests you request.
In order to get your gear tested, get a tiny plastic vial or bottle fill it with 2-3mg of your sample, seal it tightly (screw tops are best), then send it to the lab.
If you can't find an appropreate plastic vial or bottle, ask your doc's office or go to a medical supply store such as an independent pharmacy (as opposed to one in a grocery store).

I've heard of them but I haven't personally used their gear.
