Did anyone else see the A&E biography on this man? Its amazing. Not only was he a great human being but he could drink like a fish. they say hed have 30beers before dinner, 3 bottles of wine during dinner and a handle of jack daniels or brandy after dinner.
The other amazing thing was that his body kept secreting GH so he really never stopped growing, which unfortunatly eventually killed him.
I highly recommend watching it!

7'4" and 520 lbs... thats just scary! My grandfather was a wrestling fan and saw him several times perform in Montreal in the late 60's.

My dad told me a story about a bar fight in canada i believe. Andre went outside and tipped a group of guys car over on its top. When the police arrived they said some giant tipped their car over... they got arrested for drunk driving.

When I was little Andre visisted our church once, it was a summer starlite thing to raise money for hospitals, I still remember shaking his hand, his hand engulfed my arm.
I saw the bio a while back he was one the great ones.

When he let hogan slam him during a wrestlemania it really hurt him. But Hogan got his comuppance and he'd already hurt his back trying it previously.
I remember watching the princess bride as a kid and being amazed at his size.

he actually died from 'gigantic syndrome' his body keep secreting GH and never stopped growing which made his body fail in the end. The life expectancy was 40 but i think he lived to 46.

I remember reading an interview with Ken Patera and Patera was saying that if Andre had ever taken the time to learn the lifts and train a bit, he could have shattered almost every powerlifting or weightlifting record at the time. I remember Patera giving some examples of how much stronger Andre was than himself, and patera at that time held a number of olympic, if not world, records at the time.

I saw it. It was like a cross between a hip toss and a scoop slam. His role in The Princess Bride was great. I loved the lines they gave him. Will A&E sell this bio? Does any one know if they have it for sale on thier site?
