Thread: Fat in mayo 'good' source of fat?

Fat in mayo 'good' source of fat?

Is 2 oz of tuna mixed with 2 tbsp of full fat mayo a good pro/fat meal? It comes to 37 g protein, 10g fat, and 0 g carbs.

Is the fat in mayo a good source of fat?

Should I add another source of fat to the meal like almonds or is the fat in mayo enough to make this an adaquate pro/fat meal?

My answer here is the same one as the egg question in the other thread that I just answered for ya. All good if you include other healthy fats in your diet.

xcept 2 oz of tuna is about 13 grams of protein! A full 6oz can is 37.5 grams of protein.

And 1 tbsp of mayo is 10 grams of fat. In a can of tuna there is 2.5g fat.
So if you used 6oz of tuna to reach your protein goal, and your 2 tbsp of mayo, you would be at 37.5g protein, and 22.5 fat.

Sounds a bit excessive to me, but that's just my opinion. I try to keep my fats to <60g a day

What kinda tuna you guys eating? The kinda I use (chicken from the sea) is 15g per serving, with 2.5 servings in each can (2oz) ...

    So for 2 cans thats 37.5*2 = 75g protein
    Mayo for 2 tbsp is 10g * 2 (best foods) = 20g fat

there are much better sources of fats, but like swole said, if all your other sources are good it won't hurt.
