    shrugs

    is this considered more a back exercize or a shoulders exercize?

    Primary Muscle trained when doing DB shrugs is Traps!!

    it works the traps but i consider them a shoulder workout.

    i include em in either my back or shoulder workouts
    Doesn't matter to me.. th emuscle isn't exclusive to either area...and gets indirect work from both shoulder and back workouts

    Traps can be done with either back or delts. The trapezius insertion is the scapular (rotates it) and raises the shoulders therfore good with delt exercises. It also extends down the inner upper back to the rhomboids therefore can also be done with back exercises like the close grip seated row getting some thickness.

    as blue said they get worked out either way.. This is why I have my back and shoulders spaced out and do 1 excersise each back and shoulder workout. I actually have stopped training them because they were over powering everything!

    Back/Shrugs...this is how i prefer it.

    I do shrugs on both shoulder and back day. Use dumbells one day and barbell the other.
