Thread: Western Union

    Thumbs down Western Union

What a rip on their charges. If you want to send money with a test question it costs more.

    It's an expensive adventure.

Suck it up, WU is extremelly convienent now. I just had to kick down 60 extra bucks in my last WU payment but being able to do it from home makes it worth while. The poeple who recieve the payment also loose a bit of money as well. There is no service out there more convinent IMO.

It doesn't cost more to use a test question. They allow that in case the reciever does not "have" an I.D.
And most sources want a test question!

why are they stupid? And why do most sources make you put a test question so they can use the fake name?

My guy only accepts cash via confirmed mail. That IMHO is still the safest way to do business.

What... I have never paid more than $14 to send anywhere overseas. Are you sending online or something? Its way cheaper to just walk into a branch and pay cash...

International is cheaper than domestic when using WU. Some sources use WU Swift Pay, costs 6 bucks to transfer, but I think its a pain in the neck for sources. I never send WU from home either, I refuse to use my credit card for gear. Evocash used to be awesome!

If you did it from home on the net with a credit card they can track you
even more and it makes it even more of a risk because it leaves more of
a trail... Not the smart way to do it at all...

Test Questions are only so the receiver dones't need to show ID, but
WU is so ****ed up they still demand ID at many locations because the
clerks are so badly trained or have no idea... Western Union is basically
a joke and if you think it's safe then you are fooling yourself anyway...

    Wu

On the new WU form under optional features it clearly states(The maximum amount that can be picked up without ID is subject to change without notice) So if the sender uses a false name and the receiver is a false name and the clerk wants ID, then the receiver loses money.

Test questions are stupid because they cost money.

I use WU for my legit business, so there is no need for fake names and trying to be sneaky about anything, thus test questions being assinine in my business endeavors. You use your name and the MTCN, that's VERY SIMPLISTIC.

I've no idea about why sources do anything, as I don't deal w/that type of transaction, thus I need not worry about such trivial things.
