Use a different machine, when walking it will be below 117. But a slow jog goes higher best thing to do is just use another machine.Originally Posted by irish bulldog
I am 25 and your target HR is 146, i use the Elliptical's and i sweat my ass off. I am constantly monitoring my HR generally staying around 55 rpm's....
If you have'nt already, think about adding some Glutamine before cardio.
dont run just walk on the treadmille on an incline
It is true, by walking on an incline (3.8 to 4.2 MPH) will get your MHR in the correct range.
im up early so i go for a jog then on my exercise bike but my hr goes up quickly, murli im going by my polar book is it wrong?146 would be a lot easier to keep .
i do the two for a total time of 30 mins should i do it longer?
bump for last question
I have read swole's posts, he is a fan of walking on an incline too!! Me i just use the eliptical
Just curious as to what is the purpose of Glutamine before cardio?? Thanks Bro!Originally Posted by muriloninja

Supposedly it is anti-catabolic. However, the only evidence for this is on bed-ridden ill people. There is a substantial body of evidence indicating oral supplementation of L-glutamine has no effect whatsoever on healthy adults. If you already bought some, just use it up. If not, save your money.Originally Posted by sooner45
