Just wanted to post the response my doctor had to my questions below. I am on HRT and not doing what one would says is a cycle. Hope this is helpful.
My doctors response to my questions below:
Hi,
We follow estrogen levels with the labs, if you are not having side effects
or have a high level, there is nothing to gain with anti-estrogen therapy.
If you notice any of the same nipple symptoms as before, let me know, then
it would be appropriate to add anti-estrogen therapy.
The zits may or may not come back, it should be less prone to happen with
the therapy you are on now.
Regarding insulin and T-3: Doing this is somewhat popular with weight
lifters, but one of main goals here is to keep insulin levels LOW. having
high insulin levels or taking outside insulin is associated with rasing
blood pressure, developing insulin resistance, and making cholesterol go
bad. It is one of those things where people may be using it for short term
gains, but is not something for good (better) health. The T-3 is sometimes
used as a weight/fet loss aid, but taking it when not approprite can
actually make your own thyroid quit making its own hormones. it is meant to
used as replacement for people who do not make enough of their own, and must
be carefully monitored. I have met several patients who are "thyroid
cripples" from doing that. It may have been appropriate for your buddies, or
they might be using it inappropriately.
DHEA in the proper dosage is very good. if someone takes 5-6 times the doses
we usually need to get someone's level into the proper range, then there can
be hormonal conversion. This does not happen at therapeutic doses. The
levels we aim for are those of a healthy 35-40 year old, there is no
negative effect on the liver or any other organ. It does not convert to any
significant amount of any form of testosterone, otherwise I could have
started you on just that instead of testosterone.
Sincerely,
My doctor.....
