I have been using four scoopersful of dextrose from my All the Whey protein. I figure this to be about 112g. Does that sound right? Mark

just use the scoop they gave you with the dextrose...and see how many scoops it takes to fill up your protein scoop....
1 scoop is aprox 50 g
actually a lvl scoop is about 48.5g's![]()
So you're saying that the 28g (1 oz) scoop is 48g of carbohydrate? Crap. I've been over doing it then. MarkOriginally Posted by taiboxa
I found this on the website of the Dextrose I use. www.barryfarm.com

If I calculated correctly each TBSP has about 16g of carbs. If I wanted 50g of carb that would only be 3 TBSP. That doesn't sound like enough. Aaargh! Mark.
dextrose serving of 4 carbs is 1.25 tsp which turns out to be about 48gcarbs in 1 protein scoop.
I spose that makes sense. Thanks. MarkOriginally Posted by taiboxa
I ordered a 50lb of dextrose from www.honeyvillegrain.com and it came in a brown bag with no label. I e-mailed the company asking for a label and he said he had no idea how to help me. Anyone bought from them before? Will the measurements be the same for all dextrose?
yes dextrose is dextrose
i bought kool aid i think i put wayyy to much in the shake
it was all foamy and disgusting thats way to much sugar and carbs for me plus on the back it says it fructose,, which is found in fruits...why do u guys say fruit is bad after training then
due to its structure/nature fructose is metabolize in liver and does not do much for the expediant transportation of nutrients to the RAPED muscles.Originally Posted by FlexEm13
My protien scoop is 1/3 of a cup. If yours is the same this would mean that you are adding about 250g carb.Originally Posted by mfenske

so 80g of carbs (dextrose) = 25tsp, which = .52 cups...is that right?
1 tsp = 4gOriginally Posted by diesel85
1 tbs = 12g
1 cup = 192g
.5 cup = 96g
Other useful equations
3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon
16 tablespoon = 1 cup
48 teaspoons also = 1 cup.
ok....I feel like an idiot. So if 1 of my scoops that came with the dex equals 3 tsps then.... 7 of my scoops equal 84 grams of carbs?Originally Posted by beenie
It would be a tablespoon if it is equal to 3 tsp. If that is truely it's size, than you are correct. If you are not sure, why not run to the 99 cent stopre and pick up a measuing cup.Originally Posted by shwamin2004
thanks just double checking. Its better to be safe then waste alot of dextrose.
so which is it Beanie??? Tai said 1.25 tsp = 4g carbs...by that calculation, .52 cups would equal 80g...![]()
Great question Diesel (and I shall overlook you mispelling of my name and assume that it is a typo). It seems to depend on which site you check.Originally Posted by diesel85
I am really not sure which estimate is closer. For my own purposes I can share with you what I have been doing and with which I have been having some success.
I am using one cup of protien mix, which should yield 51g of protien and 6g of carb. I am adding half a cup of dextrose which by my estimate would yield 96g carb. So, in total I figure I am getting about 50g protien and 100g carb. If you really think that you can refine your measurements to .52 of a cup, more power to you. For me I am just too simple a person, so I feel it necessary to derive a simple solution.
you're right, i got my lazy ass up and googled it...everything i found confirms your measurement of 1tsp = 4g...so, to make it simplier on my end, i figured 7tbsp to give me around 84g, which is my target...thanks Beeny...
dood, just kiddin' BEENIE!!!!![]()
