I personally don't think that you need your regualar PWO shake but if you're hitting calves hard, you do need some protein and carb. Just tone down the amounts.
i was thinking against dextrose?
perhaps a whey shake with 25g oats?
Sounds like a good choice, I see nothing wrong with that at all.
Or just have a regular solid food meal of carbs/pro.
