Thread: Abscess or scar tissue?

    Abscess or scar tissue?

Yesterday I did a glute shot and today it's pretty sore. It feels hard under the skin where the injection was and has a bruise. No bump, just hard with a bruise. This an abscess or did I just hit scar tissue? I noticed when I pulled out blood dripped down my leg and it never does that. I aspirated and all that.

probably just scar tissue. I just did a shot an hr ago and some thick blackish blook came out when I pulled out, probably cuz I moved the needle when I answered the phone lol
Very common though...I wouldn't worry about it.

what size pin did you use? Have you injected there before, if so when was the last time? Did you massage for @ least 4-5 min after injecting?

Yeah if your using a 1 inch pin it's probably not in far enough to the muscle so you'll get that bump, so use a 1 and a half. And rub the injection site like someone mentioned

allright then, like Mbaraso mentioned earlier, it may be scar tissue there. I would wait a bit longer next time you inject in that location. Give it more time off.

That has happened to me, itll go away. What I do is that I press it in firmly(where its hard and lumpy) and massage it. Goes away in about 1-2 days. Just keep your eye on it, make sure you dont get a fever, or gets bigger, than it MAY be a sign of infection.

No I rotate around glute on the upper outter quarter each time. I'm just gettin so damn big it's hard to twist around and see where I'm injecting anymore.

It actually feels good to press on it and massage. Kills the pain. I've been sitting on the hard floor and rocking on it.

    Use a mirror..thats what I do.
But don't answer the phone when you're half way thru the barrel like I did tonight When u move the pin you can hit blood vessels which will cause it to bleed (obviously).

I wouldn't worry about it though..
