    Anybody ever had this problem?

I was doing Close Grip Bench yesterday and everything went as usual. However, when I got home, my wrists (the joints) are very sore. This soreness progressively worsened until today. Still hurts, and any pressure on them is very painful. I was only lifting like 185 lbs, 3 sets of 10-12. Should I use lower weights??? I don't cycle or anything and my dad said this is normal, but it has never happened before, but I never really went that heavy before...I have had some injuries to my wrists when I was a kid. I used to aggressive skate in competitions and ish...thanks for any input...PEACE...

Yup I got the same problem. I rarely do them for this matter. Also, they hurt my shoulders.

yeah your wrists will get sore so wear gloves even though it doesnt help that much...many people believe that close grip benches are the best for tris but try not to do them too often...there are plenty of other exercises like dips, skullcrushers, and pushdowns.

I think everyone has dealt with this. The gloves with the wrist wrap helped me too. Sometimes the gloves will not help much with the discomfort but they're probably the best choice for continuation of the exercise.

You could try using a close/reverse-grip and see if that improves the wrist discomfort.
