Any body know where I can find it? None of the stores around me carry it.

If you're still in NYC, try the health food stores. There's also a supermarket chain called Fresh Fields/Whole Foods (based in MD) that probably has stores outside the city (I know they're in northern NJ somewhere, and they have a web site), and they have their own brand.Originally posted by Nico

Try your food co-op or better yet make it yourself. Nothing more than throwing peanuts in a blender. Works and tastes great, and you can't get it any fresher.
I need some too. Anybody familar what stores carry in Texas? Also, does it taste worth a damn? Thanks in advance for help.

You can really just throw peanuts in a blender?
If its that easy then I'll give it a try.
okay, before I try this I want a second opinion. My wife is gonna be pissed at you if I try this and it doesn't work. I can visualize many things going wrong with this process. lolOriginally posted by beenie

It's an acquired taste. If you're used to Jif/Skippy/Peter Pan, you'll find natural peanut butter to be rougher (not as smooth) and you may miss the added sodium at first. Also, with many natural peanut butters the peanut oil separates and gathers at the top of the container, so you may have to stir it before eating.Originally posted by tryingtogetbig

(I don't use it myself. I stick with the Peter Pan Lower Fat version, which has 12 g. of fat per serving instead of 18 g.)
Smucker's has a all natural peanut butter out...You can get it in any grocery store...It comes in smooth or crunchy...They even have a low fat version...It tastes great!!
I don’t think your regular blender will purée it enough. Some grocery stores have a Natural peanut butter dispenser there. You buy unsalted peanuts and put them in and grindo… you have natural peanut butter.
Most grocery stores carry natural peanut butter though. Also brand names like Laura Schudders (sp), Smucker’s make it. Just read the labels…
Like TNT said: It is different tasting... You have to stir it up first then keep it in the fridge. But there is nothing stickier to the mouth then Natural peanut butter!
If you live in an area where they have Kroger supermarkets, Kroger's house-brand Natural peanut butter is excellent, and cheap. It's easily as good as the expensive health-food store brands. The ingredients list reads: "contains peanuts, salt."Originally posted by Nico

I'm sure that many other national supermarket chains have similar house-brand products.

I give it aI can't even stand the smell of the Jif/Peter Pan/Skippy stuff anymore. It smells like chemicals to me.
To me, Jif/Peter Pan/Skippy tastes like peanut-flavored Crisco.Originally posted by Canes4Ever

Your kidding. I thought that most grocery stores carry this. Try looking again and see, I'm almost sure that they should.
Tobey
i use jif low fat also. It has less fat then the natural and tastes better
If people can't tell your on steroids then your doing them wrong
fat's not the point with this...check the ingredients...the second one is still high fructose corn syrup...
if you get unsalted natural pb the only ingredient is peanuts
What happens here, stays here

Peanut oil = good
Partially hydrogenated vegetable oil = Crisco = bad

I found it!!!!!
Went to the Western Union Grocery store by my work and found it.
It is great!! I ate it with my oatmeal this morning and loved it. Thanks everyone for their help.
I'm gonna start using the smuckers as well.. and about the taste... I bet it sort of like the change from whole or 2% milk to skim... after a few weeks, you can't stand the old stuff and love the new.
I can eat the Smucker's by the spoonfull, I love that stuff!! It mixes very well in your chocolate protein shake...almost like drinking a Reese's Peanut Butter cup!!
