When doing deadlifts and squats on the same day, which one would you do first?

I know alot of people do them on seperate days but if you were to do deadlifts and squats on the same day, which one would you do first and why?

Its probably not the greatest of ideas to do them both on the same day, the stress on the lower back, erector spinae ect, ect, will be intense, but If had to i would squat first them dead..

Some power routines have squats and deads on the same day...Mine included.

I don't think i could squat without risking injury if i did deads first...as my spinal erectors will've been exhausted by deadlifting.

Thus my order is...squats first...deads after

i used to do deadlifts on leg day all the time, however, recently for the most part i have changed it up and do it on back day- my back hurts me quite a bit less doing this. But there are still times i throw it in during leg day.

And when doing them on leg day, i think doing squats first is best- it just seems to feel the most comfortable, than doing deadlifts first. Though i assume you could do deadlifts first, it just never worked as well for me

    Squat first for sure.

The failure mode for deads is much safer.

If you take enough time between exercises, I could see doing this, but it is pretty "balls to the walls" training. If you don't take enough time to get your juices going again, you will end up completely half-assing the deads.

Mixing it up is what it is all about. I start sweating even thinking about doing deads after squats.

If you have to do both, this is only way to do them and decrease the risk of back injury, never do DL first.
