what is the best way to get cals up? I am bulking and need to get more cals. Are weight gainers a good way to do this? I don't mind adding a little fat this winter. I just want to add some size then cut it later. I am 5'8 200 pounds right now.

The BEST way is to add quality meals like lean meats, chicken, tuna, lean beef etc. Also throw into the mix some EFAs for some quality calories. Other than that you can supplement with Whey, or even weight gainers if you wanted to, it's all really a matter of choice and how your own body responds to them.
Add a couple of tablespoons of olive oil to your shakes, but keep whole foods as your main source of calories

I use flaxseed oil instead. 1 tbsp has 14g fat and all the EFA you need for muscle growth. It also increases alertness and decreases acne, etc. REad up on it if you're interested.

i'm heating a fairly high in fat diet right now trying to bulk. Should i try to cut down on that and use flax seed? It jsut seems like when i cut fat back its hard to get all those calories for a real good bulker. Any opinions

The best way is EAT...
Yes replacing some of your fats with flax seed would be very beneficial. But other than that, if you aren't concerned about putting on fat, then just eat like a madman.Originally Posted by wrestler152
