Right now I'm doing chin-ups and bent-over dumbell rows for lats, but my lats are severely lagging. Any other exercises I can include? Thanks.

Do you use a regular or wide-grip for your chinups?Originally Posted by MoneyAddyct
I like to call lat movements vertical pulling. Wide-grip chins, wide-grip lat pulldowns, straight-arm db pullovers, straight arm cb pulldowns, etc.
Upper back movements I call horizontal rowing. T-bar rows, seated rows, bent-over rows, db rows, etc.
Concentrate on vertical pulling movements and place them first in your back workout. This should bring your lats up.
yeah do that. lol...papi said it right man.Originally Posted by Papi93
If they are really lagging, place them first in the week as well.Originally Posted by MoneyAddyct
I do wide-grip lat pull-downs as well as wide-grip chin-ups. What are straight-arm db pullovers and straight arm cb pulldowns? Thanks again.
he said it right there...If your lats are lagging I would do something similar to what I do now..Originally Posted by Papi93
3 sets wide grip pullups
3 sets deads
3 sets bent over rows
3 sets lat pulldowns (torso straight up..pulling the bar straight down to the chin..dont lean back and dont cheat) these have helped me the most i feel with lat width
Straight-arm pullovers are basically underhand chinups lying on your back without using your biceps, except the range of motion is ridiculously small and you can't use enough weight. Bent over one arm rows are far superior and chinups are the king in terms of biomechanics.Originally Posted by MoneyAddyct

Also, experimenting with negatives is a must. They will allow you to bulldoze through your plateau.
How long are you training?.
For good isolation, an old school bodybuilding favorite is the 2 cable pulldowns. Kneel on floor, with a handle from each side of the top of the cable crossover machine. Pull handles down to bring elbows behind the back (like a lat pulldown). This is usually a good finishing movement but I've done it pre-contest going heavy for a change up as well.
bottom line is change up your routine and hit back very hard, preferably first in your workout.
