Lol, over the years ive spoken and dealt with thousands of people in the US, and all i ever come across are people who's for some reason or another Irish or have some distant reletive who is.

Many times they have no association to Ireland at all.

There probably are a lot of US citizens with Irish blood. Hell, my grandfather was half Irish and I am black! My aunt and uncle have red hair and extremely tanned looking skin. When I stay in the sun for a long time my hair gets red as well...

Hahaha I kinow what you mean. I was thinking about that the other day while I was on myspace. I didnt know that most of the people I went to school with are Irish. the greek portion of the british royal family actually traces back to denmark. all of greece's former aristoracy is germanic. the greeks are a bunch of half turks, so they needed real europeans to govern them.

at any rate most people in the states are mixed, esp. if you come from an older family. myself, i don't have any irish ancestors, but a lot of people are part irish. i'm glad i don't though because it's not as prestigous to come from a catholic country originally. america was almost all protestant at it's peak, and it's been downhill ever since they started letting anyone in, from no matter how crap a country they came from.

big ups to ireland though, as they're no longer a crap country and are now doing really well despite the handicap of red hair.
