I'm a newbie and was wondering if when it comes to injectables, if 1ml of gear is equal to 20mg?

Not usually. It can be different depending on what you are taking.

If your gear is dosed at 200, it is 200mg/ml. Some is dosed at 50, some 100, some 250, some 300, and some 400. Just depends what you are taking. You need to study what you are taking and make sure you know exactly what it is dosed at.
