Strange..I just finished puttin water in it and I see this thread...bout to take first bite . It only has 1g sugar per packet..seems good to go for me and its flavored. With normal oats..I put too much brown sugar and and it kinna defeats the purpose so I think I'll stick with this.

I just add Champion Nutrition Pure Whey chocolate. 1 scoop for every cup of oatmeal. Puts splenda to shame. Haven't tried the quaker oats weight control though. How do you like it chest6?

    Why Not Just Oats????

  16. #16
cuz oats tastes like shit and I end up adding a lot of brown sugar just so the taste is bareable. Comes out to like 20g sugar which is WAY too much. 1g sugar per packet..and it tastes pretty damn good

  17. #17

I'm telling you man, it's freaking awesome. Champion Nutrition Pure Whey rocks man. I love oatmeal now. If your bulking 1 1/2 cup of oats, 2 scoops of chocolate whey, and a tbsp or two of natty pb is like a freaking desert. Also, if your a vanilla fan, a couple scoops of vanilla with some cinammon on it is fantastic. Let me know what you think surf.

Chest6, stay away from that brown sugar man. What was all that cutting for if your just gonna get your love handles back? J/K. No, but seriously. Man up.

nothing wrong with brown sugar in moderation.........1-2tsb.........

1/3 cup oats, 1/3 cup oat bran
    1 cup egg whites
    1/2 scoop whey

    my am breakfast.......

That could be said about anything though. But chest was talking about 20g of sugar with a cup of oats. No need IMO unless your a hardgainer. But I have watched Chest6 progress with cutting over the last couple of months. He has done great and I would hate to see him take a step backwards. And he definitely ain't no "hard gainer" from what I can tell.

I like your am breakfast though. Good balance. I'm going to have to try that when I get off cutting.

Much better IMO. Sweet potatoes are a great source of low glycemic carbs. And they tast hella good baked right with a dash of cinnamon. Baked potatoes are good for bulking but I have to watch how many I eat because my body will hang on to those starchy bastards like there's no tommorow. I just want to say Chest6, you have done great man. To see your pics from a few months ago to where you are now, it's inspiring. Just don't get toooo sloppy on the bulk. Good luck brotha.

Thanks a lot man, I really appreciate the help and the kind words. I'll limit the baked potatoes but now I'm obsessed with sweet potatoes

Nothing wrong with being obsessed with sweet potatoes. Unless your cutting of course. Boiled red potatoes are good too with a fish or poultry meal. They're a little better than regular baked potatoes. A little tabasco and some cottage cheese with a chicken breast and some brocoli. ............ God, I wish I was bulking

When is your whey coming in? I hate when I run out because then I'm forced to either pay outrageous prices at GNC or get some crappy stuff at walmart.

  35. #35
yep..Im takin a trip to GNC now to get that little 1b bag that costs $12! Ripoff. THey havent even shipped it yet and I ordered like Wed or Thursday. I need to get some red potatoes..I saw those at the supermarket...thanks man ur bein a big help.

I had to go to GNC myself today . I paid $25 for 2lbs of crappy tasting whey. I only pay $24 for a 5lb tub of Champion Nutrition and it's better for you and tastes like candy. What B.S.

Do you have a diet mapped out or are you just going for a certain macro? IE 500g carbs, 400g protein, etc.

  37. #37
Ive got my diet mapped out..sort of.. kinna a rough draft. I just found out I have gained 12lbs in 7 days. Most of that is fat and I bet the other lil bit is water. Not good...

Oh crap man. That's not good. At best you could assume 2lb lbm in a week. 5-8 lbs from water depending on the individual. That's at least 2lbs of fat but your probably right. Unless you were really carb depleted and had no water weight from dieting, a lot will be fat. From here on, I wouldn't want more than 3lbs a week.

    WTF IS EVERYONE TALKING ABOUT

    FACT:

If you check the weight control oats they have more protein which is a complete source, more fiber , THE SAME AMOUNT OF SUGAR AS THE OLD FASHIONED OATS, same amount of fat, MORE VITAMINS, more potassium the only down side is the sodium its not that much tho.

why are you people saying its bad???
