Im on a bit of a strength program...except I dont care about the strength...I just want good seperation...I do a lot of warming up with 1 or 2 "all out" sets...1min30sec rests...
I rest about1-1.5 min, right now I am trying to get good definition and size not too worried about strength even though that comes with the game.
same here! 1-2 mins
My rest period varies. If I am on bench I will probably rest 3-4 minutes. If I am doing flyes or crossovers my rest period will be low...like 30 second to a minute.
Sometimes I throw in sets of 6, and progress up 6 sets,
set(20sec. rest)set(20sec. rest)set(30sec. rest)set(40sec. rest)set(1 min. rest)
then i stagger down losing weight
set(40sec. rest)set(20sec. rest)...
sounds unorthodox, but it really worked for me last fall...
I keep a strict timing schedule for all reps and sets and document each workout to ensure that each workout maintains intensity. I use 60 sec. rest in between sets for all exercises except for deads and squats which I use 1.5 to 2 min. in between sets.
i'm on a mass building regimen and i find i make the most gains if i rest about 1 and a half minutes between supersets.
3 mins in between heavy compunds
1 min in between everything else
My rest is dependant on my heartrate, not on the clock. So one exercise may require more rest than others. I would say its probably in the 1 - 1.5 min range though. My routine is for strength gains right now.

I usually just smoke half a cig and get back to it. J/K. I am lifting for size and my rest is usually dictated by what I am doing for an exercise, 1.5 to 2 min.
I really dont time my sets. Pretty much when I catch my breath again. For example..my rest periods in between squats or deads would be longer for say..shrugs.
Thats the same with me, but its usually about a minute.Originally Posted by chest6
wow. are you sure you only rest that long? It takes me that long after a set of bent rows to regain coherence before I can stumble off to the water fountain
i rest about 3 minutes between sets
my execise selection is generally
DB bench press, incline DB BP, decline DB BP, dips, chins, Pendlay rows (barbell, tbar and DB), deadlifts, overhead presses, and some foofoo shit that I do because I have some shoulder injuries I work around.

i dunno, I tried timing myself once and I'm in damn good cardiorespiratory shape, and if I rested 1 minute between sets, I'd suck
I do that if I try supersetting chest and back, but **** that, i gave that shit up. I couldn't put full intensity into my stuff so I dumped it.
