I've had a manta ray for about 4 years it's a good device holds up well after heavy use. It's a good tool for powerlifters to train their squats on max effort days as it changes the leverage of the squat due to higher bar positioning, for those who use the conjugate method manta ray squats are an excellent addition.
I've used front squat harnesses but never the used the one you're referring to.
