A Higher content of Leucine will lead to more activation of mTor, thus increasing protein synthesis. Thus equal amounts of AA and BCAA, will have different quantities of leucine and other BCAAs leading to different protein synthesis responses.
thanks for your response.Originally Posted by velikimajmun
so what ur saying is: Branched chain aminos will get absorbed into the muscle better than normal aminos? or BCAAs will cause greater absorbtion of any protein?
neither, the ingestion of BCAA's (particularly leucine) activate protein sythesis in skeletal muscle. It's not a question of absorption.Originally Posted by Juicy Sauce
so, the ingestion of leucine as a BCAA will activate protein synthesis in skeletal muscle, but the ingestion just leucine (if not part of a BCAA) wont activate protein synthesis?Originally Posted by velikimajmun
you can eat amino acid l-leucine by itself or as part of a BCAA. wont it do the same thing? whats the point of spending the extra money for BCAAs?

Leucine will do it on its own and I've seen the view espoused that its the only one that is important but there is considerable research on Va line stimulating mTor as well. I'd go with the BCAA'sOriginally Posted by Juicy Sauce
Leucine acts as a signal to the body letting it know that Amino's are available. This in turn will active PS.
