    Why is Whey Protein sweet?

My chocolate-flavored whey protein says there is sucralose in it. Is this why it is so sweet?

Does this also mean that it has an unhealthy aspect to it since there is an artificial sweetener in it? I've heard that diet soda is in some ways just as bad as regular soda because your body still reacts as though it is taking in sugar.

    Thanks!

In my opinion you are right.
Sweetener sucks but you won't find protein without it.

yes that it why it is sweet, sucralose if im not mistaken is splenda so it is better for you then aspertame how much im not sure, and I have read some reports sayingsweeteners are good for you in controlling weight because of the "sweetness" triggering your brain that you have had enough (kinda of a fake out) so you dont feel hungry anymore, but then other reports have stated that the sweeteners are hard enough on your body they aren't worth it, my suggestion to you is to reasearch it as much as you can and decide what is best for you, or talk to a nutritionist, as I am not one hope this helps
