First Post - Not a Pleasant One

Hello everyone,

I'm sorry that my first post is just a problem, but after browsing this board for over an hour I decided this was the best place to turn to, as you all seem like very knowledgable people that could actually tell me what the hell is wrong with me. I've read several threads about steroid fever, site infections, etc., but nothing exactly like this. So let me give you a run down of my cycle thus far.

This is my first cycle of AS. I am running Test Enanthate @ 500-600 mgs/week.

My first shot was painful as hell. I could barely walk and the injection site swelled up. I was also out with flu like symptoms (body aches, fever, nausea) for a few days. I eventually recovered without visiting the doc.

The injections afterwards were extremely painful and took about a week to recover from, but there was no flu symptoms.

Week three I did an injection that swelled up real bad and brought the flu like symptoms back. I decided to break down and go the doc to tell him what I had done. He didn't seem to know much about AS at all, but gave me a script to fight off an infection. When the prescription did nothing at all, I knew I didn't have an infection and this was something completely different.

I had a couple of almost painless easy weeks until now. I did my last shot of test on saturday and I am feeling like total shit. I can barely walk and my ass is swollen once again. The flu symptoms are horrible and i'm stacking ibuprofen/tylenol/etc. to keep the fever down. When the fever breaks I sweat an UNREAL amount. I haven't gained too much from this cycle due to the constant sickness and i'm really bummed out about it.

I'm not looking for any magical solutions here, I just want to know what the hell is wrong with me.

P.S. The test is completely legit, from a legit company. A couple of my buddies are on the same stuff, and my sterilization methods are top notch.

take 2000 mg's a day of vitamin c and are you rotating the sites of injection?

what gauge needle? and which is it 500mg of test or 600mg of test a week, it shouldn't really fluctuate bro.

Thanks. I think the C will help out from what i've read. Yes I am rotating sites. Should have included that.

Also should have included what you asked Motorex. I am using 23G 1 1/2" needle but have found less irritation if I leave about 1/2" of the needle out. My dosages do not fluctuate, but I am running the cycle as follows

Week 1-4 500mg
Week 5-7 600mg
Week 8-10 500mg

What steps are you taking when getting ready to shoot? Be specific.. the reason I ask is I see lots of people with these same issues and they wipe down the needle before injecting and that is bad bad.

Also you may just have a dirty bottle of gear.. I am sure it happens even with legit stuff.

I am guessing it is in the way it is being injected by what you are saying.

Gosh no you don't want to do that.. The pin is sterile no need to wipe it down. If you do that you take a chance of injecting that alcohol into your body.. bad bad idea. IMO

I first wipe off the top of the vial with alcohol and allow it to dry. I do my injections after throughly cleaning the site with anti bacterial soap. I then withdraw the solution with an 18 G needle, swab the site thoroughly with alcohol, before switching over to a 23 G. I disperse some of the liquid through the pin to allow for smoother injection. I keep a steady hand, aspirate, and then slowly inject the oil.

I have also tried warming the bottom of the vial in warm water for easier injection, but this seemed to do nothing.

This is the second bottle of test. Both from the same source and I have experienced problems with both. I'm not going to list sources or brands here, but I promise you TONS of people use this exact same test without problems like I am describing.

I imagine this would hurt like hell. People have extreme soreness just from high BA levels in their AS sometimes.

Very odd. I have to admit I did have a bottle of Deca that did that to me also but I got rid of it thinking the gear was dirty.

Maybe someone else will have a better idea.. Very odd Bro..

Exactly. LOL I've researched all I can, and have tried everything in the book to stop these symptoms, but they don't cease. I'm really kind of weirded out by it as are a couple of my buddies who have been juicing for years.

do you use the same 18 g to draw outa the vial every time? are you using the same syringe as well and just changin the pin everytime? if so how do you sterilize it? im no pro here but, if you use the same pin to draw everytime, then that may have contaminated the test in the vial..
i go by the rule of using things once and tossing them, pins are too cheap to risk anything of this nature.

Not a problem I am still new but I spend a ton of time here and I read and read.. Some stuff is bunk info but for the most part great learning.


what I have read is people that wipe down their pins is they can get abscesses from it?? nasty..

Could you imagine dumping alcohol into an open wound? That would hurt a bit. I never ever use alcohol or wash the site..have never had any problems with infections.

Hmm...I considered this. But why just me? And I've used a total of three different bottles through this cycle thinking of this as a possiblity...this is a top brand of gear...should I stop using it all together?

Never re-use the same needle. Even if you 'clean' it it's a bad idea. Unless you have sterilization equipment like they do in the hospital - don't re-use.

If you're needles came in the little plastic packets then they are already sterile. Nothing's wrong with drawing the dose out with a larger STERILE needle then switching to a STERILE smaller needle. Just don't break the sterile field - by letting the part that you're going to inject into your body come into contact with ANYTHING else.

It seems to me you might have a dirty batch or that you have some kind of allergic reaction. You have a fever because your body's immune defense recognizes something that it doesn't like.

The injection site being painful and swollen concerns me. You can try ice to bring the swelling down. Is the site 'mushy' or hard when you press on it?

If I were you I'd stop using the batch you have. Just because others don't have adverse reactions - that doesn't mean that it will be safe for you. Same reason why two people can be in close proximity and only one 'catch' a cold.

I agree, don't touch the needle, or even breath on it. Also, don;t blow on the vial top, just wipe with alcohol (the vial, NOT the pin). DONT WIPE THE NEEDLE.

Also, as stated, once in a while you'll get some crap advice (Ross), but the pros will usually catch it and rip them a new one while giving you some REAL advice.

everyone is different when it comes to injections and i think in your case you should try a different injection site. if i were you i would try shoulder injections. as for the flu symptoms, how is your diet on this cycle? are you keeping hydrated? my guess is that you are not taking enough fluids.

I am taking in enough water as possible. I took 2000mg of Vit. C yesterday. My appetite is down a little but i'm forcing myself to eat. Through Tylenol and ibuprofen i've kept my fever down thus far today, but the injection site is still painful as hell.

I've always been kind of nervous about shoulder injections...afraid of hitting something. I'll tough it out for this cycle, but I will deffinently give it a try next time.

What is the mg of the Enan you are injecting? Some labs make a higher dose compound but when you inject it, it will crash and cause you pain like you been having.

I realize that most of the replies here have focused mainly on the injection process, which I would have assumed to be bad in the beginning. After your original explination of your injection process, I don't seem to see any problems with that. I would have to assume then that it must be something wrong with the gear.

I know that your buddies are on the same stuff as you say, however, you never know if your vials came from a bad batch, or if they were tampered with. You mentioned that you tried a different vial, have you had the sauce tested?

I would consider having it tested to see if there are any chemicals other than the test that could cause an allergic reaction.

I would also consider finding a doctor that knows more about AS (yes they can be hard to come by). Most doctors aren't specifically taught about steroids entirely.

It's 250 mg E. but tests out at 285 mg.

I missed these details within this thread...

IMO...Cut your injection size by 1/2, thus also reducing your weekly total to 250mg. See if this lessens or eliminates the flu symptoms & injection pain...then you can raise it up again if all is better...

Some peeps will react negatively to a certain gear while others will not & to various degrees...Some injection pain u got to deal with, but the flu like symptoms & feeling like crap is a bad thing...IMO, if this does not clear try a different cycle...good luck...

250mg? Isn't that a waste of test? I'll lower my dosage and see what happens. Do you think my body might react differently to a different ester of test?
