I bought mine from combat sports and its the combat sports brand. They come in two sizes large and regular. I got the large which offers more padding and allows some decent strikes without worrying about hurting your partner. They have held up well to, I mean the padding is not so good you can tee off on a guy lol but the padding is enough to allows some strikes. I would recommend them just my two cents anyway

MMA training breaks down to 2 elements
    kickboxing & Jujitsu

This is also reflected in schools - basically what i'm getting at, is that instead of MMA gloves you should look at investing in 16-18 oz boxing gloves/mouthguard/shin protectors/headgear/handwraps

the only time MMA gloves are ever really used for training purposes (for what i've been exposed to) are for jujitsu so as the fighter is used to wearing them

that's just how my school does it, i'd like to hear how everyone else does

I train with partners whilst wearing harbinger mma gloves..Not going too rough but hitting one another so as you have to move from position 2 position or take 'sum' damage...lol
We only wear 16oz gloves for all in standing striking! MMa gloves for ''all in'' so as to grip/throw easier!! Just depends on persons preference i think..

Thanks guys, but I also wanted them for bag gloves too. I already have some regular boxing gloves and headgear, but I do need a good mouthpiece. What do you guys recommend for these, should I get one with the hole to breath through your mouth, or is that not needed?

Century makes the best mma gloves they are usually $44.99. You can get cheapos and off brands for as little as $25 but if quality of leather and stitching suck they won't last.

    try here http://www.hardcorefightgear.com

They have them for $39.95 and no shipping. Thats where I get my gear.

As for the mouth guard with breather hole they are usually not necessary.

If your really going to fight you need to get used to the real one.

i would strongly advise against hitting your sparring partner while wrestling

it's training etiquette, you can setup striking positions (namely mount/knee-on-belly) and pretend hit for training purposes

I wouldn't be doing too much bag work with MMA gloves!. There's simply not enough protection provided. MMA gloves are not designed to take the punishment that regular boxing gloves take, simply because the natural of MMA means that you simply can not lands as many punches on your opponent. Your gloves and hands won't last too long.

Having said that I noticed when I started hitting the bag and focus pads with MMA gloves that my timing and distance judging was out because of the fast speed of my hands and the smaller glove. So some practice is required but I wouldn't make it regular.

Mouth guards, Shock doctor is good. I personally don't like the double mouth guard with the hole as they tend to block with spit. Some guys like them because they find their not getting choked so easy, but if the choke is on properly nothings gonna help. Personally I bought the cheap mouth guards available in most sports store and mold them myself.

you drop you mouthguard in a small pot of boiling water, leave it in for 30-40 seconds, take it out, put it in your mouth and bite down (this allows for the mouthguard to form to your teeth, making it much, much more comfortable and safer

I have used the official UFC gloves since they became available and i have been told they hit alot harder than cheap MMA gloves.

As far as hitting the bag with MMA gloves...like said before, i would'nt make a habit out of it, i did and i had skin coming off my knuckles real quickly. Not a good thing trust me, save your MMA gloves for hitting someone in the teeth.
