As far as chest size goes it would be best to take a regular grip on the bar and bench with your elbows out .If its geting your bench numbers up it would be better to go a little wider bringing the bar lower to the chest area and working on your arch and geting the most out of your legs, hip area for your drive back to lockout .There is alot of form issues when working on a big bench .So just because you have a big bench does not mean that you will have a huge chest ..There are alot of small guys who bench 450 plus Ibs at 145 Ibs and there are those who will be two times as big that bench much less .. I hope this helped a bit about your question on bulking your chest by your grip question if not others will chime in Im sure ...AC

the closer in you are the more you work triceps and the wider your grip the more you work your pecs however its not good to go more than shoulder width apart because it puts a huge strain on your shoulders which can lead to tears and other injuries imo i place my hands on the bar to where at a lowered position my elbow makes a 90 degree angle thats just my 2cents hope i helped

i disagree about the wide elbows, i think it is optimum to have your elbows tucked as it will involve your triceps which in turn will help you press more weight. more weight = more mass. form is key, lower the weight and keep your back resting on your traps and midback. concentrate on using your chest for the move and you will see mass gains.
