Thread: that new guy

    that new guy

Just wanted to drop a line as the official new guy and give some info about myself. I've been actively lifting for the past 3 or 4 years. I've always tended to be more a bulk-lifting kind of guy. I do a lot of jiu-jitsu/muay thai/boxing at my local fight gym. I'm 5'10", 205, 19 years old.

My goals are to lose the majority of the fat that i have. My BF% is probably at around 30% right now which sucks. For the past 6-7 months i've been completely inactive due to a boxing injury in my left wrist's triangular fibrocartilage complex (ligament). I ignored the injury for a month or so and was still lifting heavy and going to the fight gym. I'm currently in rehab for my injury and should be back into the mix of everything within the next 2 months. I can currently do cardio right now because the pain is gone in my wrist, but absolutely no lifting. If anyone has any suggestions to me losing fat without reducing the muscle even more, i'd be very thankful.

I figured out after reading some of the posts that i practically have no idea the depth of what it takes to be in great shape and I look forward to learning from this forum as i see many experienced people are a part of it.

welcome, it will be hard trying to loose fat witout looseing muscle since you cant lift weights, keep protein consumption high and face the fact you will loose some muscle. read the cutting sticky at the top of the diet forum for an excellent read into how to cut. gud luck mate.

    Can you not train legs?

The combination of legs thrice weekly + cardio+ a spot-on diet will go a long way towards getting you 'in shape'.. given that you cannot train upper body.

    Good luck.. and welcome
