    Bicep Workout Help!

ok so im pretty much at a plateu.... 17 1/2 biceps and not growing...

my workouts for my bi's have alot of sets with low reps... usually do 5x5 for all

    dumbell curls
    ez bar
    straight bar
    precher curl
    21's

and differnet machine curls for the bi's i do as well.... this worked out amazingly at the start of my cycle b/c i started out with 14 inch bi's and about 2 months later im sittin at 17 1/2....

should i try changing the sets and reps... doing less excersises for a while... or could i have hit a point where im overtraining myself.... ne help appreciated... thanks

what i would say is increase your calories, to add an inch to your biceps you need to increase your bodyweight, i read that a weight gain of 15 pounds would equal an inch on the arms, as for the biceps routine i only do three sets of heavy curls a week for biceps and thats it, my advice would be to get stronger in the compound lifts that will give better growth in your biceps than doing concentration curls etc

I was at a plateau also for a while. Then at the end of my bi workout I started doing flexed arm hang. It broke me through my plateau and I am still growing.

what is flexed arm hang? Never heard of it....

anyway as far as growing your arms, sounds like you have had great results, coming from 14" so quickly, but if i were to guess why it's harder for them to grow, i would say it's because you need to eat more now than you did before to grow, because as you build more muscle, you need more calories just to maintain your weight- a pound of muscle burns 30 cal/ day at rest.

    Thumbs up

    14 to 17.5" in 2 months.

I thought on my first cycle that going from 14.25" to 16.75" was phenominal. A 20lb weight gain on that cycle.

Maybe try a new technique i like to call not doing as many sets, but increasing weight so you work from 6, 5, 4 on working sets. really send them the message with just flatBB curls, Hammer curls, and Reverse preacher's. it might work and it might not...

another note, i agree with Ward065, are you eating more after those great gains?
