How far do you have to pull back when you are aspirating? Will blood come in the syringe right after you pull back a little? Just curious how far you guys pull back(in millimeters if you know). Thanx for your guys times.

you dont need to pull back like a cc or anything just a lil bit. If yer in a vein, blood will come out pretty easily.
Hardly pull back at all, very slight backward pressure is enough. If you are in a vein blood will come into the syringe quite easily
and if you do get a lil blood, id switch the needle and try another place.
i barely pull back....just 1/10th a cc....
ya thats what i figured I cant see pulling it back too far. Alright thanx for the quick response.
Why is aspiration doene again?

though you don't need to pull back far, it does depend on the gauge of your pin. obviously the smaller the needle, the longer it will take for blood to come into it. to be on the safe side, i usually pull it back a decent amount for a good 3-5 seconds. no blood, in it goes. you don't have to aspirate, but if you go into a vein, it's not fun. most likely won't cause any serious damage, but you won't be feeling too good for a while afterward. not sure, but i also don't think the gear will be used by the body much at all without being intramuscular, so it will most likely be a wasted shot.
Yes, you should aspirate
why deal with any BS.

When I went into a vein with a 23g. the blood came into the syringe immediately when I just pulled the plunger back a tiny bit. Doesn't take much at all.
