Cardio Twice a Day - 1300 Calories Burned

    Hey guys, quick question here.

Today i want to get a good cardio workout in. Would it be bad if i went 1 hour cardio @ 65%hr in the afternoon (burn about 500-600 calories) then another 45 minute cardio @ 65%hr tonight (burn about 700-800 calories)?

I don't see this being a problem, as i'll be doing both on as much an empty stomach as i can, so it's not like i'm burning nutrients that i need to get me through the day, right?

Let me knwo what you think, thanks

The answer here is largely contingent upon your goal, which is unstated.
Answering these will give us more to go on when considering your benefit from two a day cardio sessions, and if an hour and 45mins is appropriate or overdoing it:

What is your profile (ht, wt, bf)?
Are you trying to lose weight, fat or both?
Are you working under time constraints (spring break, a contest, summer)
Are you lifting weights also, would this be done on the same day?
Are you on AAS, if so are you specifically cutting?

Thats overkill imo and will just sap your energy. If you follow the proper diet you should be able to get by on 3 days of heavy intense lifting and 3-4 days of 45-60 minutes of cardio. Stay at a moderate pace and you're more likely to stick to it for a long time. No sense in burning yourself out like that in one day.

    hey

thanks for the responses. as you guys may (or obviously may not) know, I am currently on a 12 week transformation. I am cutting (I have a thread on this board if you wanna follow my progress). My weight is 195, 6foot, bf is unknown, but is probably aroundn 20%. I am cutting like i said. This will not "tire me out" as i am on a very strict schedule. And iwouldn't be doing weights today either, I just want to be able to burn an extra little bit seeming as i had a cheat on Saturday.

    Thanks, Bryan

Two-A-Days can be VERY benefical when goal/timing specific!

Are you talking about doing double sessions for ONE DAY?

Yeah just one day. Usually i do weights a.m. cardio afternoon, but today i missed my weights due to complications, so i'd like to do 2 cardio sessions, 1 afternoon, 1 night.

I would be doing both on an empty stomach, and would keep hr around 65%

If you feel like you can get away with it go ahead and do it. If you still have like 10 weeks of dieting to go I think you might be killing yourself for no reason. The whole cheat on sunday run 10 miles on monday thing doesn't work. Slow and steady wins the race.

Agreed. I just feel guilty both because I didn't do cardio yesterday, cheated sat night and missed workout this morning. I feel i need to do something extra to regain myself.

Then it's not even an issue.
I thought you were speaking of a regimen for period of time.
    Go ahead!

your body has a thresh hold of fat that it will burn in a given time (usually a week). if you are doing that routine daily, you will pretty much guaranteed be over that limit. and after that...it's muscle burn time. i woudln't do it daily. maybe 2 times a week. but if you go into overkill on the fat burning you will release stress hormones and it will hinder long-term fat loss. so think it through...and if you are doing significantly more cardio you might need to adjust your calorie in take accordingly.
