    newbie. Need motivation. Pls help.

Hello everyone. I have not trained in almost 4 months. I competed for the first time in Nov 05 in figure (did well) and afterward I ate everything that didn't eat me first. Then in Dec I had implants which set me back 3 weeks. Quite honestly, it has been downhill eversince.

I have gained over 20 lbs since November. I recently cleaned up my diet however I am not able to complete 3 pushups! I am so ashamed of the weight I have gained, I dread the thought of going to the gym. People have called me and I give them a lame excuse why I am not working out.

My coworkers love the fact that I am not working out. They say I am happier but I am filled with disappointment on the inside. My husband and dogs still love me so I have that going for me. Any suggestions, advice would be appreciated beyond words.

The first step is always the hardest as you propably know, trust me next time your asked to go to the gym bite the bullet and GO! after your first session youl wonder what all the fuss was about. Your obviously a dedicated person are you would never of got to show fitness b4. believe in yourself and go for it. there are plenty of people on this forum in similar situations myself included, ive lost 14 pounds since christmas and still have nearly another to go, but with help from people on here im on my way. good luk and think about it in 6 months time youl be 20 pounds lighter EASY.

Girl what you are going thru is perfectly normal.... after competing you feel so drained that you want to rest a few days... then you start feeling like well I do not haft to work out I have nothing to do it for (no contest) you just lost your focus hun... you train so hard and every moment is focused on what to do next for this contest... then boom it is over and you have no goal to keep you motivated... so take a moment and find a new goal... like a new bathing suit or another contest... now about your friends and coworkers...lol... of course they think you are happier because they felt you were doing to much work you were focusing your whole life on one goal... they may have missed you a little it is normal... now it is time to get started... there is many here that will help you on your way... so make a jornual and get started on your way...

Welcome to AR. Perhaps if you aren't ready for the gym you can start losing some of the weight you put on by walking and running your dogs that love you and they'll love you even more for it. Dropping some weight will probably make you feel much better and help you get to the gym. Keep positive and you'll return to form.

I want to thank you all for the positive comments. That is why I love this forum so much because of people like you. Sometimes you just need to know that you're "normal". Good luck energizer with your weight loss goals. Keep going, summer is almost here. Hunter1, I'm goin after it! bmf2, I did lose focus and I'm getting it back. FMHWolf, my crazy dogs would love nothing more than to run with me. They love hiking, too. I see my nutritionist Friday so hopefully we can revamp the ol' diet! Peace.
