    Power drinks?????

    Damn, I posted this on the wrong board intitially.

    Why am I seeing so many bodybuilders sipping gatorade (or the like) DURING their workout. Hell, if you train hard and are in and out in 1hr or less, why would you need the added SUGAR? Does anyone subscribe to this "during" theory? Also, how comprable are these drinks, mixed with Whey to dextrose. I realize that Dex is the king of all, but for someone who wants less sugar rush, would this suffice?

    Right now I use 2 scoops of whey, 1 tb of dex, 1 tb of glutamine, 1 scoop of creatine and 4 rice cakes. Maybe I need more at 6'2, 190? I am lean bulking at 9-10% bf, so dont want too much excess sugar.

    Look into maltodex it is far less sweet

    yeah, I have had it too (I'm always switching) but after so many studies, I'm think the spike of that magnitude is necessary.
