real egg whites and liquid egg whites... is there a difference

    Hey guys,

I was just wondering is there any difference between pasteurized liquid egg whites and the egg whites from the egg. I feel as if the liquid egg whites are not as healthy for you... am I wrong about this?

well the difference is that the liquid pasteurized ones you can actually eat/drink raw. i wouldnt recommend that with a white right out of the shell. i dont think that one is any healthier then the other though.

I have been doing alot of research on this and despite what the other people have said they are incorrect. Your body cannot uptake any of a raw unpasturized egg white protein. Avidin, which is found in raw egg whites, blocks the uptake of Vitamin B6 (Biotin) causing a vitamin deficiency. You must cook the egg white to neutralize the Avidin and allow your body to safely digest the protein and utilize all its Amino acids. This is accomplished through the pasturization process.

Well you dont get the 100% bioavilibilty of the protein but some is still used by the body.
