    100% olive oil VS. 100% Extra Virgin olive oil

    Anyone know if there is a big enough difference for us? Extra Virgin only costs about 30cents extra for me...

    Only difference I found was that Extra Virgin has kind of a burning after taste if taken alone...where as the regular 100% does not...

    The extra virgin is much better for you was i believe it is pressed twice, so you are getting more of the the EFA's from it and less of the bad fats. I always get the extra virgin olive oil.

    hmm thats interesting the Nutritional facts are identical in every respect...I assume by bad fat you mean sat.fat...

    Extra virgin means that it is pressed from whole and intact olives. Regular olive oil can come from cracked ones or even ones scopped from the floor. That is the only difference

    Not sure if it goes that far to be dangerous or filled with bacteria. They just claim the taste to be more pure and better from "first pick" whole and ripe ones than whatever you got in the basket at the end of the day ones

    extra virgin is the finest oil pressed and treated in a way that doesnt ruin the oil. All other olive oils can have been put under heat and immense pressure and other things that ruin the good monounsaturated fats. Never ever buy anything else than extra virgin.

    funny I never noticed any bad tastes with extra virgine....try one of the milder kinds. There are as many different olive oil's as there are wine
