    Question ketosis and mass buliding

can a person be in a ketoic state for a long time 6 months and still pack mass on. would high levels of AAS help prevent muscle wasting. what im thinking is if im in a ketoic state and am burring fat for energy and if the caloric intake were high enough would i not shred pounds while packing on muscle at the same time. thanks

carbohydrates are very important for optimum muscle building in my experience, i wouldn't think it would be smart...

not to thread hijack or anything but what is ketosis? Is it that one diet where you eat high protein and fat and only like 30g of carbs per day for 5 days then on the weekend or whatever you eat tons of carbs and anything?

yes kind of i was looking at the Atkins diet. it restrikes carbs but allows all the fats and protein you can handle. the diet sucks but it will cause your body to burn fat for energy instead of carbs,

CKD (cyclical keto diet) has worked well for many athletes. You are in a state of ketosis for part of the week, then you have carb up days.

May be the way you want to go.

Your body does not burn just carbs when you eat them. This is totally false. The need for a ketogenic diet is basically only usefull for morbidly obese people as well as epilieptics, or people tha thave issues with the insulin senstvity. There is no carb boogey man that makes you fat when you eat them. Guess what if ytou are doing a Ketogenic Diet, you are consuming far more fats as well, so granted you are burining more, but you're eating more too. Your logic doesn't make sense.

What causes a person to lose weight (fat) is an energy deficit, not a restriciton of a macro nutrient.
