    Glucose interveneous....

I just bought in the hospital a 1 liter bottle of glucose in liquid for interveneous use , 1 liter bottle as 50.000 grams of glucose, so my 2 questions are,
    Can I drink this solution?
Lets say that I want 100g of glucose how many mililiters should I take?

I may've misread but you just said 1 litre is 50.000 (i.e. 50) grams of glucose.

Sounds like the orange syrup liquid they use to check people for diabetes. The good ole "Glucose Tolerance Test"

Why would you want to drink it?

Bro I am not too sure if you can drink that stuff. You see, you can't just inject anything into your body. Certain things are structured so you can only consume it orally, some things are structured for injection administration only. The stuff that you can't inject they modify by adding all other sort of chemicals to it so you can inject it. I am assuming this is what they would have done to the glucose you are talking about because as far as I know you are not supposed to injcect pure glucose IV as it is structured for oral use only. Now if they did add extra chemicals to this glucose so it can be injected, then I am unsure if it would be healthy to oraly drink it because I don't know what kind of effects the added chemicals are gonna create.

You really have to find out if the stuff you have is 100% pure glucose no addetives. And you have to find out if pure glucose no addetives can be taken IV as well as orally. That's all it comes down to. But as you said yourself, it does says "for IV use only". Keep that in mind.

Too much of a hassle bro, just go and get some dextrose from your supermarket will ya lol.

Yeah it is pure glucose and it comes in concentration of 50.000 g of glucose in 1 litter. So lets say that I will ingest, how many ml do I need to get 100g of the glucose?
