only push yourself as hard as you can tolerate. you do not want it to linger on and on.

take some zinc and vitamin c lozenges along with airborne. that stuff kicks just about anything out of your system. had a buddy i used to work with in NY and everytime he'd get sick, it would always progress into upper or lower respiratory infections. after he started using the above combo, he'd never be sick for more than a couple days, and even those couple days weren't that bad. i use it whenever i feel something coming on, and usually by the next day i feel like nothing ever happened. it works man, trust me.

as far as working out right now, you have to be the judge. you can workout when you're sick, but it can make you worse, and the cold/flu will interfere with your bodys recuperation process. if after a couple sets you're not getting into it at all and it's making you even worse, sack it up and head home.

happy to be of service. personally though, i get mine from walmart cause they're much cheaper than cvs. and as far as the vitamin c and zinc lozenges, you can actually get them as a combo at vit world. gnc probably has them too, but i'm sure most of you know vit world tends to have better prices.

well there are no walmarts in the land known as south beach. it would hurt all the places charging the stratosphiric prices they charge

Take a few days off....especially if its serious enough that you're workouts are affected. You'll be surprised, after a couple days off you may come back stronger than before! Overtraining for most athletes is way too easy and tempting to do.

you know what the docter says about flue:
If you lay in bed it will take you 7 days to recover
If you keep on doing your things it lasts a week.

Only thing is with laying in bed, you feel a lot better.. and look on it from the positive side, as long as you drink enough, your body gets a good rest

I don't think your gains would be much less from taking a week time off.

Personally, I feel better when I'm active while sick. It takes my mind off of being sick by distracting myself with doing other things. But, whatever works for you.

I do agree with taking some time off not seriously affecting your gains much. Sometimes taking some time off can actually improve your gains.

One thing to think about is that when you become overtrained, your bodies immunity system can be compromised, leaving you more succeptible to getting a cold/flu. Sometimes, getting sick is a sign we're overtraining.
