Well in Pride there is different rules.

Pride Rules are pretty much the same to the UFC except for these rules

    1. There are no elbows in Pride; they are allowed in the UFC.

    2. Stomps are allowed in Pride; illegal in the UFC.

    3. Knees to the head on the ground are allowed, otherwise known as the 4 point rule. In Pride if there is a 20 pound difference in weight between opponents, the lighter opponent can choose to abolish the 4 point rule in that fight.

They have the same weight classes in terms of except UFC has a 170 pound weight class and Pride does not. Pride had 154 pound weight class and the UFC does not. But Pride does not call there 205 pound weight class light heavyweights, they're called middleweights. I'll think of some more in a minute

Pride fighters most of them are all rounded very skilled fighters.

UFC is second grade MMA and has not been doing very well lately.

Bunny go to www.cagewarriors.com or www.sfuk.net those are two UK based MMA sites where you'll pick up DVD's and advice on what channels are showing the various fights etc. The guys are mostly cool on both boards.

If you visit them, please mention that you heard about them here on this forum.

Ahh a see, so pride is the most respected at the moment? would the top pride fighter of say any weight beat a UFC fighter, or are they not comparable bcos of the difference in rules?
and is there any chance of them inegrtating or is it to political to do so. i.e contracts, sponsors etc

UFC has a weird way of booking fights? and feeding second grade fighters to there champions.

Dont get me wrong Pride does have its cans too but has far has the show and the fighters nothing compars to Pride.

No UFC heavyweights would stand a chance against Pride finest thats for sure.

Pride has a lot more money to work with than the UFC so they put on much more elaborate shows with much bigger crowds and each event is worth what you pay for it. UFC can be hit or miss. The Pride top heavyweights are incredible fighters and can almost definitely beat all UFC heavyweights at the moment. They most likely will never fight each other because there is to much politics involved. Imagine Mirko-Crocop who is arguably Prides number 3 man comes to the UFC and destroys the UFC heavyweight champion which is very feasible how embarrassing would that be to the UFC? This can def happen in the LHW division also since it is very deep in Pride. It can happen in the middleweight division as well. The UFC sent Chuck Lidell over to Pride to compete in the Pride Middleweight/ LHW Grand Prix and the UFC president Dana white bet 200,000 that chuck Lidell would take it all. Chuck was destroyed in the semi-finals by pride fighter Quinton "rampage" Jackson and gave Liddell a beating like he never had before, all while Dana White was commentating. I think that left a bad taste in his mouth.

Pride also doesn't test for juice! or evenly enforce thier rules due to huge communication barriers with many of the fighters.

I would love to see AA go over and fight in pride! He would give several of the heavyweights a run for their money.

Yeah but they still dont test for juice to this day. They only thing they do test for is ephedrine type supplements for some odd reason.
