Well I think everyone here will say best Pride Pound for pound fighter would be Fedor Emelianenko. As to who the UFC is I couldnt tell ya. Maybe someone Like matt Hughes Or chuck Liddell....but matt fights at 170 and chuck fights at 205 and Fedor is a heavyweight.

    Ice Man

I really don't like Liddell but damn, he's a total badass: evil striker, great takedown defense and IF he get's taken down, he's got a huge ground game. For UFC, it's gotta be the Iceman.

fedor & arlovski, and fedor would fold him like a towel

When Randy got him down Chucks game wasnt that great he got mounted and pounded out, I would have to say of recent A.A and Fedor.

Tough to say, just recently got in to Pride and liking what I'm seeing but as far as the UFC goes, right now I would have to say The Iceman.
He just keeps getting better and better.........It's too bad Arlovski couldn't come down in weight, it would be a great fight!

Although this subject has been beat to death, and Pride is generally known to have higher quality fighters, you gotta remember Hughes has beaten Sakurai and Newton, two quality Pride fighters.

Both orgs have high quality fighters. Pride has the best heavyweight division and there 205 pound division is very deep its self not to mention there 160 pound division. However the ufc does have high quality fighters and just like pride they have there fighters that are up and coming. In my eyes UFC or Pride its all MMA and we should enjoy it all

Dude, Fedor would dominate anyone in the world past or present...he is unbelievable.

The UFC has a great 170 lb class, maby better than Prides middleweights...but Pride always has the best heavyweights!! Fedor and Nog are the greatist heavyweight champions the sport has ever seen IMO, and they both came from Pride!

Fedor Emilianco is not humanm he is undefeated in MMA and pertty sure everywhere else he competed. The guy that could beat him is not even born yet.

I have never seen a big guy move like that, when Kevin Randdelman slammed him on is neck and head, Fedor just rolled out and put Randdelman into a Kimura to win the fight, he didnt even look stunned.

Now has for the UFC take out the elbows and a lot of guys are worth shit, David the Crow Loiseau would get killed in Pride.

George st pierre has some pertty mean elbows has well and i do think that they are is strenght.

UFC fighters and Pride fighters are too different, its a kind of feeling that you get when you watch the fights.

    It just aint the same.

Frank Shamrock in the UFC was pretty bad a** at his peak! BJ Penn is an increadible talent...I guess you have to put Matt Hughes in there to! as far as Pride he may be a shell of himself now, but I think the greatist in Pride was Sakuraba in his Prime..he was a star, he could fight, he pulled crazy submissions, spanked some of the Gracies- he was awesome...Fedor and Wanderli are the best champions they have seen

Lets hope its true but Frank Shamrock said that he wanted to come back to full time MMA fighting, lets hope he doesnt sign fights against cans like Cesar Gracie and that other juiced up guy that he beat at rumble on the rocks.

UFC ALL TIME: My heart wants to say Couture. Won belts in 2 different weight classes. Plus the guy's so easy to like. But I'd probably go with Matt Hughes, just because he's been on top for so long.
UFC ACTIVE: It's Hughes, but not by much. I'm starting to lean towards GSP, and if he can beat Hughes in the rematch, he will definitely be the best pound-for-pound. No one fought a tougher schedule than GSP last year, and into this year with BJ.
PRIDE ALL TIME: I'll go with the Axe Murderer, but I'm a big Bas fan as well.
PRIDE ACTIVE: Fedor. No further comments are necessary here

    UFC All TIME: Randy Couture
UFC Active: AA for sure......Seems unbeatable for now
Pride All Time: Wanderlai Silva. Too bad about all of the times he's broken his hands. I think he's had like three surgeries on them.

    Pride Active: Fedor is Unbreakable!

I think your thinking of Fedor with the broken hands thing. Or thumb at least. To my knowledge Silva has never broken his hands in a Pride fight.

    Liddell has a ground game?

He has hands and a sprawl and thats it..so far he has had good results with it but not always ala Rampage.

Arlovski is the one who kept breaking his hands like 3 fights in a row because the fights were close and he couldnt take enough time for it to heal fully (newbie82 hint hint! ) so it kept breaking again and again. But eventually hsi doctor took him to russia where he had a bone graft/donor procedure where he took enough time off and the bone healed much thicker and stronger.

Wanderlei silva had several knee problems because he kneed so many cans so hard!! Silva was told to slow down or else he'll end up with as much tape on his knees as sakuraba....thats alot of tape.
