take in plenty of vit c...I eat between 5 and 8 cans daily...
IMO, the mercury poisoning is BS. You'd have to eat a whopping amount before any real harm would come your way. As long as you're feeling fine, you're good. 2 cans a day is about average for me.

as long as you are not a infant, the merc shouldn't bother you, I have to find some new ways to prepare the stuff, i'm sick of the same old ways of eating the stuff.
2 cans a day for me
2-4 a day for me. and I agree with 1bufsob, the mercury poisoning is crap. tuna is a great source of lean protien. you get used to it. sometimes I'll just down two cans with some flax
i hope you're not mixing that together. if you are, you're my new heroOriginally Posted by derek7m

I assume he's referring to the taste. The bland dry taste of plain tuna mixed with the bitter almondy flavored flax oil....................... Sounds good to me.Originally Posted by NewKid

That's the only way to eat it, or with olive oil.

yeah that's what i was referring to. i can do olive oil and tuna all day, i can't see tuna/flax mixed.. actually i've tried. never again.
Mercury can be harmful to your health in massive amounts, its not BS. But it is BS in reference to tuna, in most canned tuna they use the younger fish and the mercury content in them is much lower than the adult tuna. So I wouldnt worry too much about it.
get the flaked tuna, it's stripped from the smallest tuna. And tuna/flax and balsamic vinegar is good too.
if your cautious dont eat 5 cans a day year round. It might catch up to you after 10 years or so. I try to limit tuna nowdays, not because of mercury though.
thanks fellas...i can now eat tuna with no worries. also, who is a good person to PM that could review my diet and help me out?
you can post it in diet questions....just be sure to look at the sticky of diet checklist to make sure you tell us everything we need to know
I seen they have tuna in water and tuna in veggy oil. Which do you guys prefer? I like the veggy oil for a simple pro/fat meal.
veggy oil is bad...get tuna in water and add virgin olive oil or flax...
I eat 6-8 cans daily . since i am cutting. even in the bulking season i eat 2 cans daily. vit c . I take in 2.5g 4 times a day.
you should try and break that up a little more my man, try taking 1g 8-9 times daily...Originally Posted by NEW_IN_THE_GAME
is it bad to mix it with eggs, mustard, low fat mayonaisse, and pickles? Also, why do you take vitamin C when you eat a lot of tuna?
4-5 for me taastes just fine!!
GEEEEZZ 6-8 cans!!! wow!!! lol!!! i eat tuna maybe 3x a week!! I just buy the big ass bags of chicken breasts from costco and eat that all day lol.
ya seriously man, ive been eating tuna every day for the last 3 years and there nothing wrong with me (i eat about 3 cans-10cans a day depending on the type of diet im on)
what's with all this vitamin C stuff??can someone tell me what they use it for??
i'm with biglouie, I get 4 kilo boxes of chicken breasts (8.8 pounds for you americans) for 25 bucks (canadian). I eat 3-5 boobies a day i love em!
I think it is crap they are doggin TUNA b/c of mercury. FDA should be more worried about making it known the horrible health risks of eating to much cheesburgers.
