Thread: B12 Shots...CoA?

  1. #1

    Question B12 Shots...CoA?

Hey - I was wondering what people's opinions are on taking B12 shots...dosage/frequency?

Also, I wanted to know what the difference is between this product and other B12 products? Here is the description:

    Cyanocobalamine

    B12: HUMAN GRADE (Sterile)

    30ml at 1000mcg/ml

Vitamin B12 is necessary for the formation of blood corpuscles, nerve sheaths and various proteins. It is also involved in fat and carbohydrate metabolism and is essential for growth. Adenosylcobalamin is the coenzyme for isomerization of 1-methylmalonyl coenzyme A to succinyl Co A (an important reaction in lipid and carbohydrate metabolism) and in ribonucleotide reduction (which provides building blocks for DNA synthesis). Reactions involving methylcobalamin include biosynthesis of methionine, methane and acetate. There is evidence that vitamin B12 is required in the synthesis of folate polyglutamates (active coenzymes required in the formation of nerve tissue) and in the regeneration of folic acid during red blood cell formation.

    Thanks!!!!

What are your goals? It really depends on what you are trying to do with B12. Many people here take B12 mainly for an increased appetite. And that is actually the reason I started it also. I have been taking B12 for almost two years now.
A typical prescribed dose for people who are deficient in B12 is 1000mcg per month in a single injection.
However, if you are looking for an increased appetite then you will want to take a similar dose as frequently as every other day or once a week at the least. I've followed similar routines and haven't ever noticed any negative side-effects.

    For more info: http://home.intekom.com/pharm/lennon/vit-b12i.html

That links states that injections should be performed intramuscularly, but I've never had a problem with B12 doing subcutaneous injections using insulin pins (since it's water based).

I can't really talk about other delivery methods such as orals as I've never used them. But I hope that helps.

1 ml every day for me while bulking.... don't know if it actually worked or simply a placebo effect, doesn't really matter: I was hungrier and was able to get down 4 -4500 calories a day which was tough before.

There's something about sticking yourself with a needle that makes it that much more convincing that it must be working.
