My chest is out of proportion

My chest is out of proportion. Ten years ago, all I cared about was my bench press numbers so I focused on it way to much.

After being away for years my chest size came back quickly and I'm out of proportion again. It would probably take two years for the rest of my body to catch up to my chest size for it to look right.

I couldn't imagine not bench pressing for two years.
    What are my options?

I have a friend who is the same way. Not only is his chest to big, but he is on his second shoulder operation, and he still continues to bench!

just work at your weaknesses but dont slack on chest. look around the gym, not everyone has a symetrical physique. lot of people at my gym that are all biceps, and no chest(that looks weirder) or all traps, or no legs. everyone has their weaknesses (for the most part). look back at all the threads about people complaining about their poor chest development on here.

i'm one who can't build a chest well. but just work your chest to maintain size and strength and keep making gains because with a good all-around training regimine you will hopefully catch up somewhat. my arms/shoulders/and traps will always be my biggest asset. but growing everything else into close proportion is all i can do.

    Thank you guys.

I want to keep bench in my workouts but I don't want any more size. What would you do? High rep or Low rep workouts to slow growth so that everything else can catch up?

To make things worst, i'm coming down from a very high bodyfat %. And of course my chest is where all the fat likes to be. I've read all the "Do I have Gyno" threads and I know that, basically, I'm still too fat.

So my focus has been on losing weight and slowing my chest growth.

Novastepp, putting pictures up, while I still look bad, is a big move for me. I'll get some up though. Of course, I'd rather wait till I get under 10%

What does your training split look like? If you are a one bodypart per week person, you could put chest last in the week. I hope that you are not placing it early in the week.

    Papi,

I am a one body part per week person. Bench Press is right in the middle of the week. Thank you for the input. I'll try to put it later in the week.

What I would do for chest is high reps and supersets. I’d also do 30-60 mins of cardio in the morning on an empty stomach, since you say the fat likes to be in your chest. Once the fat is gone (from cardio and diet) and you are at 10% like you want, then perhaps you won't look so out of proportion. At that time if you are still out of proportion then limit your heavy training on chest and keep your reps up. Focus on your lagging body parts and in time they'll catch up. It takes years to build a perfect body. Do you want to compete? At this time don’t worry about posting pictures, as the only one you need is your mirror. You have to be dedicated to reach your goal. Keep up the hard work and I hope this helps you.
