well most of the time i lift in the afternoon but sometimes i just get the urge to go home from work and do a routine
As long as you can eat correctly afterward and get a good night of complete sleep, shouldn't be an issue.

I used to train at midnight, after my job ended. The university gym was empty and my workout partner and I had the best workouts of our lives. Can you imagine having the whole gym to yourself to train? The good old college lifting days...
All about working, nutrition and rest.
Pay attention to your times that you are doing each and you will be ok.
