i have been taking a little over 1 mg a day of proscar for the last month does any one know when it really starts 2 work i heard guys say there hair started coming in really thick i was wondering how long do you have to take it for results like that

Hey bro it's gonna be a long battle, I remember I went about it the leegit way went to a doctor and they refered me to a specailist ( I thought my DR could get it for me) they took pictures and stuff. and I was on it for a month or two and my hair started falling out faaster than ever and I was like screw this I'm done with this.

Then like a year later I went back to my Dr. and he asked me about it and I told him what happened and he laughed and said that's how you know it's working! It's suppose to get all you hair on the same cycle or something first then it starts to kick in. I go a different route now and get the 5 mg proscar and take them perotily just to keep my DHT levels low because prolong use can give you b!tch tits

I'd say the hair loss stopped at 2 months and regrowth was slow at about 3-4 months. Just to warn you it will come in weird in the begining, Like I'd get one strong thick hair grow out of nowhere about 1/2 inch below my hairline, witch I just took as a good sign that hopfully it'd all grow back to that new hair line lol

thanks 4 your info where did your hair grow back at towards the back or in the front because my hair was getting a little thin all over but mainly i have a receding hair line its not too bad but its noticible will this work for the front or just the vertex

the funny thing is ive been taking it probally 4 almost 2 months now and i noticed a couple long strands of hair sticking straight up its pretty funny i am not sure if its from the proscar but i hope so

well it came in mostly on the top and I had real fine hairs grow in the reciding cornors. You just have to remember you can grow hair back in a dead hair folical, so I wouldn't get my hopes up super high.

Yeah I wish I could, I remember seeing it somewhere on the website maybe as one of the side effects maybe. It's been close to 3-4 years since I looked into this. But it seemed that long term studies of people who have been on it for 5 or more years. Of course not everyone gets it but it has occured in people that use proscar long term

i'm glad i read your post. I'm 25 with bad family genetics. basically my dad is bald and even grandad's both mother and fater's side so i decided to do sometin about it even though my thinning is not very visible if not under certian lights.

I have been using 1mg proscar for 2 weeks now. I also use minoxidil day and night and wash my hair with nizoral 3 times a week. thing is since i have been on this cycle i have experienced more hair loss during showering and i'm like what the **** is goin on here. So now i think it is normal. I will stick with it and see what will happen in a few months time.

Any guys with similar experiences ??

Yeah my hair fell out like crazy the first time I tried it so I stopped and the Dr. said that's how you know it's working getting all your hair on the same cycle. ANd frankly I think you might be over doing it a bit. I first tried it when I was 22 cuz I had the same concerns. And I freaked out alittle kinda like you are now. I'm going to be 27 in a couple weeks and I'm only on Proscar periodiclly and I still only have a slight thinning on the top of my head that people don't notice unless your looking for it. And frankly I take it like 3 months a year and I'm getting close to 30 so if I'm not really that bad now I don't think I really need to be concernded about it.......if I'm in my 50's tring to pick up younger chicks it's going to be because of my money not because I have a full head of hair :LOL:
