    Interview Nervousness

    Im going in for a series of interviews for the next couple of weeks for some customer service type jobs...mostly dealing with clients over the phone selling life,car and home insurance

    The problem is I get so nervous that i cant even speak sometimes... i'm very qualified for the position but my only problem is i get REALLY shy during the interview. (Im starting to think that if i take a shot of some vodka before i go in ill be fine)
    Any body have the same problem? and if so what do u guys do to relax?

    only give productive answers please

    good read...but im thinking more along the lines of a way I can physically decrease my inhibitions(i.e sweaty palms)

    If you're REALLY bad... just take a Darvocept before the interview... it's strong enough to give you the calming effect w/o having to take xanax or something. DON'T DRINK if you do... they'll smell it and it's over

    Also... bring note cards. Write things on them... to keep your cool.

    The key to an amazing interview is WRITE DOWN QUESTIONS and bring them. At the end of the interview they'll ask you if you have any questions... they WANT to see that you do. When you write them down it shows them these questions are important and they mean something to you, shows serious and dedication... questions that pertain to you and YOUR FUTURE... advancement, continuing education... whatever goes hand in hand with the job you're applying for.

    Very good advice..I am very shy also and was really nervous during my interview as well. Wish I had some of this info

    Awww you just have to keep in mind that these people interview other people ALOT... they know you're nervous and a GOOD employer will take that into stride during the process. Somehow during that interview... between nervous grunts and coughs -- you have to give them a little magic... why they want YOU over the person before you or after... let a little personality shine through. You said you want to sell something... I'm a sucker to buy anything from anyone who makes me feel at ease and makes me laugh...

    You can do it Don't psych yourself out or 2nd guess what you have in you.

    my productive answer:

    when i go for an interview i just make it a point to stay as calm as possiblem never shake nothing like that. I developed this by taking the not give a crap about anything attitude - which gets on some people's nerves sometimes - evidently - sorry

    i m just really REALLY honest in my interviews but i do come off as a really serious person who is hard working and all - quite contrary to my behaviour.

    OMG I am so embarrased... what's worse is that I EVEN googled "chauvinist" to get the right spelling... and they give you that "DId you mean this?" and put the same word in... different spelling... so I spelled it THAT WAY... and it was wrong

    toronto is OK
    i actualyl live in the suburbs so the city itself is quite far from where i live. If i lived closer i'd have a lot more fun!
