I like Tock. Although I've never spoken to him directly, I appreciate that he's a curious guy and willing to exchange ideas. I enjoy reading his threads. I don't think he's pretentious at all. He seems genuinely curious yet I'm sure he's often misunderstood. He also seems like a tolerant guy. He shows kindness and patience in the face of some ignorant and intolerant responses.
I've got an idea. On some of the threads I've seen over there in philosophy/regigion/politics, I've seen what someone else here has termed "psuedo-intellectual babble." In such a case, the person seems to want to insinuate themselves as informed or "smart" yet they "stink" of inauthenticity and they write in a vague way as if to suggest profundity. In fact, I've been accused of that myself. It would be handy to have an authenticator - someone to point the way for the confused and the dumbstruck...to decide if a message is authentic (vs. inauthentic). I vote for TOCK to be that person - the moderator who decides what is authentic. The question becomes, is this a Tock approved message? Tock has a proven track record for being capable of abstract thought so he probably knows the difference.
