    Leg drive

I have had this heated debate with thsi guy about using 'leg drive' while benching and overhead pressing.

the basic question is - Is it appropriate for a bodybuilder to be using leg drive while benching and overhead pressing?

you dont hav e to read the whole damn thing, just give me your opniion on usage of leg drive for benching and overhead pressing
here are excerpts fro mteh conversation

him: Bottom line Bench press is a Staple in any ones routine or program ANYONES. its also one of the most important excercises for upper body strength but im an avid beleiver that the over head press is king for upper body strength.

If used properly the bench can work your core and even your LEGS! its called leg drive and heavy arches. but no one does that.

me: isnt leg drive reserved for people who are powerlifters and NOT bodybuilders?
when you overhead press do you us your legs for leg drive there? Do you think you get the most out of that exercise using leg drive while overhead pressing as well?

him: That would be called a push press oh wise one. and even an over head pres with slight calve press off can build your claves on a massive level.
Ever wonder why people who deadlift double ocver hand ussually have hge forearms? ever wonder why people who do a calve raise or a shrug at the end of a deadlift have huge calves and traps?
its called synergisers. there is no reason for both of you idiots to be talking down to me right now. so stop double teaming me because i feel a little less straight

him: Let me put this the nicest way that i can possibly do.
you are asking WHY WOULD YO WANT TO USE YOUR LEGS IF YOUR ON A CHEST DAY.
you are being a complete #*@s. do you really think that none of your bodybuilding idols used these methods to get the most out of there lifts?
Do you think Arnold said NO LEG DRIVE IM WORKING CHEST? NO he knew that if you alterd your stance you can work even more muscles at a maximum weight.
Have you seen arnold bench? He has a slight Arch would loads on the core. you can work Huge muscle groups over and over and over WITH major growth
Tom platz did high rep heavy training with his legs ALOT and he squatted more then twice a week.
my freind your not a bodybuilder. you can think yourself as one but you in no way are shape or form a bodybuilder for one reason
    1) You have no concept. i know to you it makes no sense but as you see the training methods of many of the bodybuilders around you will start to understand what i mean.
Powerlifting and bodybuilding go hand in hand. one just doesnt give a shit and eats aload more . and trains the big 3 with less isolation ALOT more.
there are reasons why almost ALL powerlifters are huge and why only elite level bodybuilders are huge.
its because the youth of body building are extremely misinformed
