    Roomate has bad breath...

    My roomate has bad breath.. And its not like its once in a while, its everyday.. ANd I see him brushing his teeth like 3-4times a day and he uses mouth wash too.. I think he might know he has bad breath or something.. What causes it? Hes a clean kid... I know he walks all day long, mabee it has to do with that? I want to help him, but Im not gonna come out and tell him he rotts.. What solutions are out there, and what causes it? Its funny cause like 1/2hr after he brushes his teeth I can smell it..

    If you are a friend you should say something. Is he on medication? Some meds change your body chemistry and can give you BO or bad breath. He may have a gum disease. I'd tell him but try and be polite. Don't be like dude your breath smells like dead ass!!! Just say you notice on occasion he has bad breath and tell him to see a doctor or dentist.

    my flat mate last year had the same problem. his breath literally smelled like shit, it was vile. he was using cocaine regularly at the time, is your room mate a drug user?

    Maybe all the guy needs to do is floss once or twice a day. Do you know if he get's checked up/cleaning at least twice a year?

    Also, it could be as the other guys stated like a gastro problem.

    Gingivitis causes bad breath, there's an oral solution he can use to help with the problem but he'd have to see a dentist first.

    Steroids can give you bad breath....I use to hack crap up...like flim or something, it was white little chunks that smelled like horse shit....But i always chewed Big Red gum, and after i came off the cycle it stopped.....

    My breath get way worse when on. I can smell it myself. I think it also has to do with extended eating!

    maybe he should eat...if you dont eat all those acids in your stomach come up and you can smell all the shit breath.

    sometimes if i havent eaten in like 4-5 hours, i can smell my own breath pretty bad, then after I eat, its fresh. THen i brush and its minty fresh.

    How long has it been bad? COuld be tooth decay, a gum problem, an infection. Does he have a bridge or cap? He should see a dentise, and let them know about the bad breath. Most dentists only see you for a check-up after a cleaning... so the dentist wouldn't notice the smell if he just had a cleaning.

    Could be a side effect of a medication, or it could be coming from his lungs or stomach. Does he smoke? Could be too much acid in his stomach. Does he eat/drink alot of bases? ie milk, bread, ect.

    I think I know what your talking about!!! I had that sh!t like growing on my toncils and I would pick them out and my toncils would bleed.....messed up stuff and smelled even worse

    I used to have bad breath back in the day.

    Things to consider...Floss, use a tongue scraper (this is huge!), brush constantly, eat every few hours, and drink plenty of water. If he's already doing this, then maybe he has a problem with his sinuses?
