    Starkist Flavored Tuna

Has anybody tried making this yourself? The tuna in a pouch tastes great, but I'm not sure how to get it to taste like that (especially Sweet and Spicy and Hickory Smoked). The nutritional profile is damn near the same as regular tuna in a can, so was wondering how to make it.

For Hickory Smoked you could try some liquid smoke. I've used it a few times but make sure to use every little, its strong.

personally i go for the Light Tuna...it is a darker tuna and has been known to have less mercury than regular tuna. Its taste is comparable to regular tuna...

anyone know if they make these flavored tuna products for light tuna? it sounds like it may be a bit more 'appetizing" (well, not that tuna is too appetizing but i need to eat 2 cans a day!)

Is that something you can get at any grocery store or do you have to go somewhere specific for that? Sounds like a good idea.

Grocery stores have it, check around the spices/marinades sections. I meant to say use "very little" not "every little".

Yeah dude, i always thought tuna is pretty tasteless, I tried the liquid smoke idea that StoneGRMI suggested and a dash of soy sauce. I use them both when making beef jerky usually; but It made the tuna a lot more eddible.

I am gonna pickup the hickory smoke flavored tuna from the grocery store today to see if I came close.
